Photographer and documentary maker Ilvy Njiokiktjien has captured an extraordinary insight into the hidden story of spiritual care in detention in Esserheem prison.

For nearly twenty years, Ilvy Njiokiktjien has been working as a documentary photographer and filmmaker.

She has won many awards, including World Press Photo and Silver Camera.

Her work regularly appears in international media such as The New York Times, Der Spiegel and Stern. Since 2017 Ilvy Njiokiktjien is part of the international photo agency VII.
